Parish Breakfasts are held regularly on Saturday mornings (keep an eye on the web site for 2019 dates) in the new barn outside at Quex Barn starting at 0830 and finishing around 1000. This is the latest incarnation of an original idea by our very own Jim Fry for a men’s breakfast which would allow men from the parish, whether Christians or not, to meet for friendship and fellowship.
The meetings were originally held on the first Saturday each month in the Seaview hotel and encompassed a wide range of topics. Although successful, it was decided to open these out to everyone but to hold them approximately bi-monthly
Since these changes, we’ve heard talks of around 15-20 minutes, on topics as diverse as ‘The tomb of the unknown warrior’, ‘The myth and magic of Morris Dancing’ and ‘17 years as a female priest’ as well charities such as Porchlight and XXXX….all this AND a delicious freshly prepared full English breakfast with unlimited tea and coffee and all for just £6.50 (though you can have a lighter, vegetarian breakfast of scrambled eggs, mushrooms and tomatoes for only £5.50)
